Where is the Black Leadership?
This question was brought up in a telephone conversation with one of the BBMI board members. I did not immediately answer the question, but after a few seconds it finally came to me. I now know where our Leadership is and always have been, they are at the white dinner table. This comment requires a lot of explaining, so here we go. First of all let's look at the definition of Leadership; (Leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act toward achieving a common goal). Now let's look at the 5 qualities of a good Leader;
What is the Role of a Leaders; (A leader’s most important role is to provide clear and compelling direction. This begins with a statement of the leader’s values and principles, of their hopes and plans for the future. Then they must consistently demonstrate those values and principles in all of their words and actions. They must also surround themselves with people who share those values. leaders also create structure, build trust and inspire hope. From the above supplied information, who has lead us for the past 400 years? No one, what leader has motivated us to act towards achieving a common goal? What is our common goal? What Leader has provided us with clear direction of their hopes and plans for the future? Answer question one: no one, Answer question two: we do not have one, Answer question three: no one. If we were to compare this to white leadership for its people, we would see it totally different. They're leaders provide clear and compelling direction (MAGA), they’re leaders display values and principles of their hopes and plans for the future of their race: Immigration reform. Voting rights reform, critical race theory, we are the victim. They must also surround themselves with people who share the same values. Need I give some examples? This is the reason why I have come to the conclusion that not only is the black leadership at the white dinner table, but we all are. First I am not saying that it is wrong to have dinner with people of a different race, what I am saying is what type of food is being served and what is the conversation geared towards? When someone invites you to join them for a meal, (something that is reserved for family members, special people and special occasions) we feel privileged and honored. Everything is done at the direction of the Head of the table who is the leader, he snaps his finger and says, “more wine for our guest" this displays control, discipline and force. Remember you are invited as an extension to the family, in which his pets also belong to that same group. The control and discipline displayed by his servants is not the main problem, it is the force by requesting your glass be re-filled, and you must drink. By not drinking displays ungratefulness because you get to drink expensive wine that is reserved, while discussing how all lives matters but mostly whites because of the contributions they have made to mankind. The next question is how's the wine? You say it is remarkable. He knew you would say that, because in actuality he knows that you cannot distinguish the difference between a Rose', Blanc or Fortified wine. Also the wine you drank was a present to him from one of his employee's (who makes minimum wage) as a Christmas gift, something he would not dare drink. Now the meal is finished and you fully understand that white lives are more important than that of blacks and you return to your neighborhood and tell the people of your accomplishments and how life will change for them, some examples are; reducing the crime rate, who will be put in jail? We are going to fix the education system so you will learn more, about who? and strengthen measures for equal rights, led by a delegation of who? True black leadership is missing in our society and not because we have bad leaders, but we have leaders who can be compromised. They consumed the wine as we all have at a certain point and time. All black leaders are not bad or to be sold to the highest bidder, but where is the leadership qualities, traits and guidance? What is the positive message for our people? What is the plan for us as a group of people and our new born for the next five, ten or fifteen years? Unfortunately it is being designed by the true leaders of the blacks in America; he sits at the head of the dinner table.
