Making money 101
After many years of trying to hide a penny here and a penny there for hard times, I have discovered that a person who works a modest 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. job will be one incident away from being in debt. Saving a penny here and a penny there is noble, but if you consider what you earn (Income) Vs. What you spend (Expense), the outcome will be that there is only pennies left over. I often heard my Parents use the expression „Saving for a Rainy day “unfortunately we are living in a monsoon season with no end in the forecast. As an employee we focus on, do we have enough to pay the bills and maybe once years go on vacation? Because our goal is making money while our dream is to be wealthy, we dedicate our effort to what is working now, paying the bills.
Making money Vs. Creating wealth for us.
Can you make money and create wealth? I would say yes as long as you know the difference. Making money is working to create currency to be exchanged to purchase goods and services. Creating wealth is working to create currency to be exchange to purchase hard assets to be exchange into soft assets. Beware, the definitions do not apply equally because of a hidden dimension. Using these definitions, do Black folks make money or have wealth? My belief is, we have neither because we have not gained positive visibility, respect, or freedom (the hidden dimension has appeared). Although we have money and invested in and own hard assets, the Hidden Dimension again lurks in the background.
Making money into a Perspective
The bar for Black American has been raised to a level higher than for any other race of people. We are measured by two different units, if everyone else‘s foot is 12 inches, ours is 24. How does this apply to making money and creating wealthy? The same principle applies; his ounce of gold has more value than my pound of gold. The reason for this is simple subtraction, minus the hidden dimension. Positive visibility, Respect and Freedom all of which has weight and\or value is applied to every equation or calculation.
